Stephen Gill Field Work Experiment - Footprints in the Sand

Out of School Project
For this project, I had to look at the work of a photographer called Stephen Gill. I had to do a piece of work based on the type of fieldwork he does. I was originally thinking of taking photos of different types of doors and having objects that I found near the place between the door. I then thought of going to the beach and seeing the different shapes in the sand, when I got to the beach I realised the footprints and markings in the sand along the promenade. I took photos of footprints, tyre tracks left by cyclists and prams and animal footprints such as dogs and birds. Here is the fieldwork that I tried...

For this photo I tried to include many tracks and prints, however this did not work very well because it does not show clear prints and tracks.

In School Project

I also had to  create the same project, but in school instead of out of school for homework. We had the option to either use our own ideas or the class write down different ideas and pick out a random idea and expand on that. I picked out the idea of seagulls after break or lunch time. Instead of just seagulls, I changed it to any birds at school because there are not always seagulls and I am not able to take the pictures after lunch because I would need to get to the next lesson. The birds mainly land on the playground after lunch due to the litter and left-over food left by pupils. I tried to take the photos of the birds flying or about to start flying. However, this is difficult to get the perfect timing and have to the time to wait for the birds to start flying and get a good quality photo.
